Julie Cheston, client services director at The Write Angle (TWA) has been named ‘Best Marketer’ at the Downtown Lancashire Women in Business Awards (Friday 13 November).

Crowned for her dedication and innovative thinking in marketing communications, the judges were impressed by Julie’s leading role in national campaigns at the Chorley-based agency, working with clients such as Antler Luggage, St George’s Day Festival and Champion Accountants.

Celebrating female business leaders and entrepreneurs across the county, the event took place at the Villa Country House Hotel, Wrea Green. Managing director and founder of TWA, Angela Smith, was also shortlisted in the ‘Decade of Excellence’ category.

TWA was founded in 2002 and works with a diverse range of businesses from regional SMEs to global brands and public sector organisations to deliver award-winning projects.

Julie commented: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have won this award – I couldn’t believe it when my name was read out as I was up against some fantastic business women.

“Thank you to the judges and to everyone who voted. I’d also like to thank the TWA team as we all work extremely hard to grow our portfolio of clients, so it’s great to be recognised for the hours we’ve put in to ensure successful marketing and communication campaigns for our clients.”

Downtown chief executive, Frank McKenna, added: “The first Women in Business awards has been a huge success, and it was great see to so many female entrepreneurs and business leaders together.

“Congratulations to Julie on her award win – she commands enviable experience across a number of industry sectors and we are proud of the way she has led the team at TWA to create award-winning projects.”
